Biking routes

Bansko offers hundreds of kilometers of superb mountain bike riding. Whether YOU are looking for relaxing forest or valley trails, to get you away from it all or the adrenalin rush of the technically and physically demanding alpine rides – YOU will find it all in Bansko.

B1 - Red route

  • Long and smooth
  • Length: 36 km
  • 65% asphalt
  • 35% - dirt road

Parts:
1 Bansko – Predel: 13.5 km smooth, slight uphill
2 Predel – Predel chalet: 3.75 km downhill
3 Predel chalet – Branch of a road Razlog-Bansko: 14,25 km mostly downhill
4 Road to Bansko: 4.5 km slight uphill

B2 - Blue route

  • Intense
  • Length: 14.25 km
  • 65% asphalt
  • 45% - dirt road

Parts:
1 Bansko – Bunderitsa (upper Gondola lift station): 8.25 km uphill with some sharp parts
2 Bunderista – Bansko: 6 km downhill

Tip 1: for the part 1 use car or the Gondola lift
Tip 2: Visit the nice Happy End pub at the lower Gondola lift station

B3 - Yellow route

  • Alpine
  • Length: 9 km
  • 100% dirt road and macadam

Parts:
1 Bunderitsa (upper Gondola lift station) – Vihren chalet: 4.5 km uphill with some sharp parts
2 Vihren chalet - Bunderista – Bansko: 4.5 km downhill with some sharp parts

Tip: use car or the Gondola lift to reach Bunderitsa and then do the B3. You can make a downhill combo from Vihren chalet with the part 2 of B2 route totaling 10 km of exciting downhill

B4 – green route

  • Long and intense
  • Length: 31 km
  • 100% asphalt

Parts:
1 Bansko – Dobrinishte Village: 7 km smooth ride
2 Dobrinishte Village – Gotse Delchev chalet: 8.5 km uphill with some sharp parts
3 Gotse Delchev chalet - Dobrinishte Village: 8.5 km intense downhill
4 Dobrinishte Village – Bansko: 7 km smooth drive

Tip: exciting combo with B5 (brown route) possible. Take the 2-seat lift up to the Bezbog chalet
Tip: on the way back make an interim stop at Dobrinishte Village and take a relaxing mineral bath

B5 – green route

  • Short and intense
  • Length: 5.6 km
  • 100% dirt road and macadam

Parts:
1 Gotse Delchev chalet – Bezbog chalet: 2.2 km intense uphill
2 Bezbog chalet - Gotse Delchev chalet: 3.4 km intense downhill

Tip: ride carefully

B6 – blue road

  • The Mesta Valley smooth roundtrip
  • Length: 23.5 km
  • 65% asphalt
  • 35% - dirt road

Parts:
1 Bansko – Razlog: 3.75 km slight downhill
2 Razlog – Banya Village: 4.5 km smooth
3. Banya Village – Dobrinishte Village: 6.75 km smooth

Tip: make an interim stop at Banya Village and visit the mineral bath

B7 – red road

  • The Thin Air roundtrip
  • Length: 16.5 km
  • 45% dirt road and macadam
  • 55% asphalt

Parts:
1 Vihren chalet – Damyanitsa chalet: 7.5 km changing terrain
2 Damyanitsa chalet – Bansko: 9 km crazy downhill

Tip: drink a beer at Happy end at the end of Your adventure
